DESCRIPTION OF THE PORT: The city of Antalya stands on cliffs overlooking the north end of Antalya Bay, which is open southeastward to the Mediterranean Sea. The Port of Antalya is divided into two main sections. The relatively new commercial port is located on the northwest side of the bay. The yacht harbor is located in the extreme northeast portion of Antalya Bay about 5 nmi northeast of the commercial port, and adjacent to the city.
RESTRICTION: daylight navigation only for tankers.
PILOTAGE: Compulsory services 24 hours per day VHF channels 16 , 12 and 14.
TUGGING: 3 tugs available (240 h.p. , 900 h.p., 1,125 h.p.)
WORKING HOURS/SHIFTS: First Shift: 08.00-16.30, Second Shift: 16.30- 01.00
CARGO HANDLING FACILITIES: 8 shore cranes of 5 to 25 tons, 5 mobile cranes of 3 to 40 tons, 12 forklifts of 3 to 25 tons, 2 trailers of 25 tons, 3 tractors of 5 tons, 2 loaders of 1 ton.
BULK CARGO FACILITIES: Owned by Etibank, 4 alumina silos each have 4.000 tons capacity. Conveyor belt load at rate of 2.500/300 tons per day.
OTHER INFORMATION: Tanker terminal is United National Terminal in position Lat. 36 49'15"N , Long.30 36'30"E. Depth of water 17 m.- 18m. L type buoy system. Discharge line is 10 inch line to stern. Line can be adjusted to 8 in. or 12 in. There are 2 tanks farms to receive cargo. They are 450m - 500m. and 1,600m. from the sea buoy. Discharge rate 300-400 t.p.h.
BERTHING: The commercial harbor has six alongside berths for oceangoing vessels. The commercial pier located west of the north jetty has depths alongside of about 10 m., and can easily accommodate a frigate-sized vessel. The port is protected by two breakwaters 1.440 m and 650 m long. Port area is 331,600 sq.m. Maneuvering area has 400 m. diameter, depths 8m. - 11m. It also servers the still on-going Antalya Free Trade Zone. A modern cold storage plant with a shocking warehouse of 10.000 tons capacity is existing.

STORAGE: open area is 200,000 sq.m. , Closed area is 3,000 sq.m. and closed area for combustible cargo 400 sq.m., Cold storage plant is 6,900 sq.m. with capacity of about 10,000 tons.
NATURE OF SEA BOTTOM: Sand and mud.
FRESH WATER: available alongside at 32 - 40 tons/hour and from one barge of 300 tons capacity.
BUNKERS: Available by road tankers though private suppliers.
AIRPORT: distance 22 km from the port.
GARBAGE DISPOSAL: service is compulsory.
WASTE OIL DISPOSAL: collection service is available. Include two oil water separators of 2 rons per hour capacity and a shore tank 100 tons capacity inside the port.
